Career.

Liz came to Dublin at the age of nine. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Trinity College, Dublin. After college, she earned a Master’s degree from the Zoological Society of London where sh a studied Wild Animal Biology and in 2008 from Royal Veterinary College.

Her master’s degree research project took place in Nepal where she tracked and studied tigers. Liz came to the first position in her class. Liz followed her passion which is science and this landed her a job at BBC to anchor Bang Goes The Theory, a BBC1’s famous science magazine show, which aired for complete eight series.

After the show Liz has worked on different science and natural history programs, including BBC2’s “Horizon”, presenting specials on The Transit Of Venus and Tomorrow’s World, and BBC2’s “Museum Of Life“, a series about the Natural History Museum in London. In 2013, Liz also presented the two-part documentary   “Animal Odd Couples” and ‘Operation Snow Tiger’ on BBC 1.

In the quest for fresh ideas, Lil Bonnin travels all over the globe to research the science of animal behavior. 2016 saw Liz featured in a BBC 2 Horizon program ‘Should We Close Our Zoos? and appeared on BBC’s ‘Who do you think you are?. Lil was also a pop singer and a member of a pop group called ‘Chill’.

Liz Bonnin was born in Paris on September 16th, 1976. Her mother is a Trinidadian of Indian Portuguese descent and a French father. The family moved to Ireland when she was just nine-years-old.  Liz grew up with her sister Benni.
